Week 8 EOC: The Phineas Fogg Adventure
As I go out on my long adventure of obtaining the holy grail of snacks, I carefully make a list of all the things I possibly will need. Thanks to my trusty iPhone 1000 with the Hydrogen 1000 long-lasting battery I can visual track where I am going with my interactive 3-D pop out map. As I travel across the globe.

Week 6 EOC: Me Times 3
Think about 3 items that you bought that describe you or define you....and a description 100 per picture.
Something that defines me is playing a new game that came
out a couple months ago called Neverwinter which is a (MMORPG) Massive Multiplayer
Online Role Playing Game. It comes from the pen and paper game Dungeons &
Dragons. I’m addicted to it and I love
that it allows me to be somebody else for a couple hours. It helps release all my stress and the
happenings with people around me in my life.
Although it is not real, I would rather do that then drink and get drunk
to “drown my sorrows away”. I think this
is one game that I will reach to the max level and continue playing for years
to come.
Another thing that I would have to probably say that defines
me is my iPhone 4s. I have had other
phones that may have better features and more quality to it but there is
nothing like an iPhone 4s. As soon as I
owned my first iPhone I became more involved with technology. What I love about the iPhone 4s is how simple
it is to use. My son who was 2 at the
time used it so easily and that then became the new babysitter. I thank you for that Apple! I have even self-taught myself how to create and
basic and simple soundboard app for the iPhone 4s. I am definitely getting the new version when
it comes out apparently early to mid-September.

Week 4 EOC: Business 2 Business Marketing
When you are marketing to a B2B you want to focus on the logic of the product by focusing on the features and benefits of it. There is very little to no personal emotion (impulse buying) involved in the purchasing decision. The business 2 business market is more about the knowledge and seeking lots of information. Your most effective marketing message will focus on how your product or service saves them TMR: Time, Money, Resources.
Business 2 Consumer is dependent more on advertising, promotions, and branding to get their products moving. You want the focus to be on the benefit of the product. The consumer more than not, do impulse (emotional) buying usually because they think it is a product they did not know they needed. Basically, all the consumer wants to know is what the benefits or service of the product will bring to them. Make them fell important (they are) and a valued part of the team and they (companies) will reward you with amazing plethora of content.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice
My name is Michael Strachan and I
was born in the city of Long Beach, California in the year of January 14th,
1980. I grew up in South Gate,
California until the age of 14th and then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada
in 1994 with my parents. I started in a
brand new High School and was the 1st 4 year graduating class. After graduation, I just worked and did not
really know what I wanted to do as a career or just in life in general. I dabbled in photography for a while but did
not pursue anything with it. As I grew
older and many different jobs and 2 kids, I finally decided to challenge myself
and go to college to show my boys that it can done. I do wish I started earlier on in life but
that is the challenge when you do not know what you really want to do in life
or where to start. But certain circumstances
force you into making that decision.
Fortunately, for me so far it has been a great decision and even a
better experience.
I want to be a designer
because I want to create things new and undiscovered. I want to be able
to create something that someone will say WOW and have a great impact on their
lives. I also would love to incorporate my passion for photography with
web design and possibly create a stock photo page that is revolutionary for all
generations to come. I guess something like how Facebook has become.
I want to be able to say that is my work for Xx Company. I chose to
be a designer because that will always be around and the only thing that really
changes besides technology is your creativity. You only can go as far as
your mind lets you! I'm also doing it to open up my mind creatively and
network more. More importantly than that is to challenge myself and see
how far I can be creative. This is all new to me as far as web design.
It also would be nice to leave a legacy as well. Taking classes in
my field of study will allow me to stay motivated and expand my knowledge on
creativity and design. That is why I want to be a designer!
Thank you for taking time out of
your life and reading my blog. Here you
will read things about my life and activities; as well you will find a link to
my twitter page where you can follow here: https://twitter.com/cococowboi3.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service
Good customer service is
listening to customers, dealing with complaints, being helpful even when there
is no profit in it, and taking the extra step to helping the customer. An example
of when I experienced this was while I was working at the telephone company and
I helped a customer for approximately a hour and a half and I didn't look for anything
such as a tip in return of my service. I was there to provide service and I
didn't mind helping them.
Customer Service is the
ability to listen to people and be able to communicate with them. For example I
had an elderly person come into the store one time who needed telephone service
and high speed internet. She had never owned a computer but had purchased one.
So I spent about 45 min
going over all of our services and going over on what she was going to use her
computer for. So first we were able to get her, her telephone service and went
ahead and added her high speed internet. So I gave her the equipment she
needed. She said her grandson would be able to go and install her service. So
she went on her way.
Well she returned the
following day because they were not able to install it and she did not want to
wait on a technician to go to her home. So I advised her I would be able to
come over and install it for her. So after work I went over and installed the
modem and made sure everything she needed to be connected to her Wi-Fi.
So I believe I did
communicate well and showed good customer service.
Another example is when I
worked at the call center for a retail store. I had a call from a customer very
upset because they received the wrong color sofas and the wrong model. So I
went over the order she placed and made sure would be able to get her, her sofa
she had ordered correctly. So we placed the correct order and I made calls to
the warehouse to go have the sofa picked up a.s.a.p. and take her the correct
one which was sitting there at the warehouse. She was very appreciative that I
listened and was able to resolve her problem.
So I do believe having good
customer service s an asset and the base to any company.
Another
experience I had with customer service was when I was working at Entertainment
Benefit Group where I worked all by myself for a couple of hours and had to
take on the extra responsibilities due to my coworker being on vacation. While I was attending to one customer in
purchasing show tickets, I was helping out other customers as well, and
answering the phone in a timely manner.
My customer who bought the show tickets applauded my multitasking while
still paying attention to her and answering her questions. She said I kept my composure and handling the
rudeness of interrupting customers. She
also added that she does not know if she would have been able to do what I
do. It takes lots of patience and
anticipation of customer needs.
On the flip side: A
difficult situation that I had with someone was when I had to complete my group
project alone because my two partners were out sick. Although they were sick,
they were still supposed to contribute to the project but they didn't;
therefore, I took on their responsibilities as well as my own to finish our
project. The outcome was a success. I did not tell our teacher because I didn't
want their grade to suffer. I did what had to be done in order for me to
achieve my an A on the group project.
